Buck Henry, Get Smart co-creator and SNL pioneer dead at 89

Buck Henry, writer and comedian who co-created the series Get Smart and was an early contributor to Saturday Night Live, has died of a heart attack at age 89.

Henry is also remembered for several movie roles, including the humorless IRS agent in Grumpy Old Men.

One of his best performances was as an increasingly agitated radio talk show host who was not getting any calls in a SNL segment called Talk Back.

"I support the forced busing of Soviet style Communists, into your neighborhood, whether you like it or not, to kill your puppies!"

LOL! I do believe I've heard a few radio talkers actually go there. RIP, Mr. Henry.

I liked a lot of his work.

Still, I never heard of him until he co-hosted something called "The New Show". Very funny. Dave Thomas (not the Wendy's founder) was his co-host.

John Belushi, Gilda and Buck are doing the most hilarious skit together up in heaven. And Chris Farley is also smiling.
RIP Buck Henry. Thanks for making the early days of SNL so hilarious.

He hosted the prime time episode of "SNL" this week. I never realized they portrayed Gerald Ford as a moron. Chevy Chase makes Alec Baldwin's Trump look like a genius. Henry was right beside him telling him exactly what to do, and when he messed up in public, Henry told the Secret Service to do the same thing so the president would look normal.

John Belushi was the violent deli owner.

And for "Weekend Update" Henry presented the uptight Catholic point of view in response to an earlier editorial.
