Buck Owens, country music legend died this morning at home.
The cause of death was not announced.
I hope the country music stations in the DFW area take note of this passing
of a country music icon and innovative broadcaster.

A sad passing and a shame that his claim to fame to most of the public was Hee Haw. Having the Beatles cover one of your songs has to count for something. :>)

He once lived in Sherman Tx and had a TV show on KXII Channel 12 there .. YEARS ago.

The Trooper from KSCS dedicated the 9PM hour of Classic Country Saturday Night to Buck last night. I would've preferred that they had honored him the whole show.

Buck is and always will be in my mind the man who brought the "Bakersville Sound" to the masses. Buck was Hee-Haw, he was southern fried country music with a west coast influence. He didnt mind the "hayseed americana" approach,in fact he embraced it. He truely possesed something that the "modern nashville" sound has lost, which is heart and soul. I have a feelin' he's "pickin and grinnin' " with Junor Samples,Grandpa Jones,Minnie Pearl and St. Peter even as we speak....

We'll miss you buck.
