Buckcherry

I manage a student run college station in Mississippi. We play a good mix of Hot AC/Alternative/AAA... it seems to work here.. My question is... who's playing Buckcherry's Crazy Bitch? I had it on for awhile, but then got nervous and pulled it. The listeners seem to love the song, but even the edited version made my heart skip a beat. Is it too much? Is it too close to the line? What's the call? I assume "bitch" is fine on the air, but the whole meaning of the song and the F-bomb all over the place. I think the tune is great... Thoughts?

It was getting a good amount of air time in Houston. I don't know if the "community standards" for Mississippi would make a difference. As long as it's cleaned up, it's no different than any other song about sex/drugs. In my opinion.

My opinion is that this song doesn't even belong on Alternative. It's straight up Sunset Strip glamour boy rock. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's as mainstream as it gets.

As far as this song goes: It all depeneds on where you live. I'm up here in the Northeastern Bible Belt (S. Ocean County, New Jersey, where Christian radio stations abound) and it wouldn't fly on most stations. Elsewhere, you're fine as long as you take out the F-Bombs.

I agree with what you said. Also I don't think its that strong of a track.

Actually, there's now a version with a cleaned up hook, so instead of:

"you're a crazy bitch but you f*** so good when I'm on top of you"

you get

"you're crazy (crazy) but you look so good when I'm on top of you"

Perhaps that edit will keep the ol ticker at its normal rate...

Thanks for the input.. any idea where I can get a copy of that cleaned hook... I think that just might work. We still get tons of calls for it around here.

Thanks

Played the crap out of it on our rock station. Dang thing sat in power rotation forever. Small market. >50,000. Never got one complaint. ;D
