CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative WJRR (REAL ROCK 101one)/ORLANDO PM driver JASON "BUCKETHEAD" BAILEY has been named the new morning show host at sister Active Rock WXTB (98ROCK)/TAMPA replacing COWHEAD, now at crosstown COX Classic Rocker WHPT (102.5 THE BONE). BUCKETHEAD has been at WJRR for the past five years. "THE BUCKETHEAD SHOW" will start at WXTB the second week of AUGUST. An announcement for the surrounding cast of characters joining BUCKETHEAD will be announced within the coming days.

WXTB PD DOUBLEDOWN said, "BUCKETHEAD is a true innovator within our medium. He consistently brings meaningful content to his band of BUCKETHEAD fans with every broadcast."

How was Buckethead doing in the ratings? Was in a "true innovator with that medium?"

Until he moved over to 'JRR from XL... I had never really even heard of him. I'm not sure what changed between here and there, besides the format of the station he was working on at the time.

Oh well, so Tampa's 98 ROCK gets another out of market morning show on their dial. And it's from Orlando, again. I'm sure the listeners will be pleased.

So when do they shuffle things around at 'JRR in mornings to allow for this to just be a simulcast to both stations? Don't tell me they're going to make this guy work THAT hard, with two air shifts? (Then again, maybe that's his "innovation" at work..)

Not sure you are thinking right here. Buckethead won't be on JRR anymore (well... once they find his replacement). He will be live in Tampa... The Fiasco hasn't been changed as far as I have heard

Ahh my mistake. Well, I hope he makes it in Tampa. Does anyone know if JRR has a potential replacement in the works?

Yeah but not at the same times, one will air in the mornings at 98Rock Tampa and the afternoon one will air on Real Rock 101.1. This guy has his work cut out for him now.
