Buckley Desperate for Advertisers

Coming back from every commercial break during Dr. Joy Browne, Buckley was begging for advertisers. Coming out of each commercial break was "You're listening to Dr. Joy Browne on WWCO AM 1240 and so are you're potential customers. To Advertise call 860-243-1115." Previously what the liner they used to run coming out of the commercial break was "You're listening to Dr. Joy Browne on The Talk of Connecticut WWCO AM 1240." (Or whichever of the 4 stations I was listening to).

Browne is old hat. Time to ditch her for something more progressive. Browne attracts an older listener base and as such is bound to attract fewer paying advertisers. Same goes for WOR.

Talk of CT should have gone with John Gibson, now that Fox is airing the show at noon instead of 6. Too late now because WATR is running Gibson from 1-3.

At least she doesn't be-little her callers like that old crow they have on WLAD in Danbury. Plus Dr. Joy has a real degree in Psychology unlike the so called doctor on WLAD.

I think the other so-called doctor has her degree in nude photos. Do a search, but only if you are REALLY brave. It absolutely Disgusting.

Search? Nah, I heard about the photos years ago when I used to have a local radio at work and would check in on Stern on WCCC (the networked version, not the late 70's one). Then when my job got a more direct connection to the internet, well, that was the end of listening to local radio, and I started going global. (and eventually global tuners)

I predict WWCO et al will all become regional repeaters of WOR and the WOR Radio Network.

I wouldn't mind having a regional repeater of WOR / the WOR Network in the Providence market.

Right off the top of my head...I can think of four AMers that would make a good home for Buckley....790....920....990....1320....(in that order...from most desireable to least desireable).

What a treat it would be to have Joey Reynolds in this market! Sure beats the heck out of the overnight competition!!

"That old crow" happens to be an author of ten New York Times bestsellers, including children's books. Dr. Laura earned a Ph.D. in physiology from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and post-doctoral certification in Marriage, Family and Child counseling from the University of Southern California.
Some people have to be addressed in a direct manner. Some call just to obtain approval from a respected authority to justify themselves. Dr. Laura is not that person and will tell them so. I signed up on this board specifically to defend Dr. Laura who I respect, but may not always agree with. If you disagree with her style, you need not listen. That is why we have choices. Let us, however, be professional and show respect.

The above is solely my personal opinion and does not represent that of any client, employer or other individual.
