Buckley's Last Set This Weekend

In the mid-60's Dick was a regular on WAAF, Jazz 950, am. He was always kind to a couple of 15 year old radio geeks.

Blessings, Dick!

PS So were Jesse Owens, Daddio Daylie and Jerry Leighton.

It's nice to know I wasn't the only 15-year old radio geek that Buck was nice to in the WAAF days. He was very gracious when my buddy and I showed up on their doorstep. Some years later, he was equally gracious in accepting my invitation to MC the first Elmhurst College Jazz Festival (an event that is still going strong after 40 years, BTW) and when I became a producer at WBEZ he welcomed me graciously again.

I plan to drink a toast to him......hoisting a Schlitz. For some years in the late 60's, he received regular checks in the mail for having said "Schlitz...Milwaukee and the world" on their TV and radio spots.
