Bucky Stover

I read the news the other day about Bucky Stover. Even though he spent most of his time on the technical side in TV. He had some great pipes. I think I gave him his first job at WPVR in 1974. He was 15 and still at Andrew Lewis. We had to do some creative scheduling to get around the work permit rules.

He will be missed

I always thought Cronauer was who hired him at PVR. Sometime drop me a line and let me know who you are. I'm sure I know you (or know of you) but don't recognize you by your login name.

I was a pallbearer at Bucky's funeral, along with Larry Bly, Steve Finnegan and John Andrews (all Roanoke radio guys at one point or another).

We were all in town for the 1240 WROV reunion on Saturday 8/5. Bucky was going to be there, then on Sunday 8/6 I was going to his house for a cookout. Then this. Alas!

Yes, one great set of pipes. Mine aren't bad but he made me sound like Micky Mouse.

But he will always be remembered on the WROV history website: www.wrovhistory.com
