Scot has improved a lot over the years, but he still was not particularly good. While his folksy ways are sometimes fun, he never stated more than the obvious and had trouble picking and choosing the right spots to interject. Bucs' broadcasts often used the sideline reporter to fill what the color guy should have. I also suspect that now that there are retired vets from the Dungy era and Glazer era that the Bucs are interested in using someone with ties to the current regime and fan base and not the old creamsicle buccos.
