Bucs game

I caught a little of the Bucs radio broadcast on Sirius today.... anyone know why TJ Rives was doing the play-by-play rather than Gene Deckerhoff?

I was listening on 103 and he said early in the first quarter that he was sitting in for Deckerhoff "who was on the way". Did Gene in fact call the game later, I got back home the flipped on the TV.
Overslept, forgot it was Sunday, was enjoying the brunch buffet at the hotel and lost track of time, couldn't get a cab, got lost in his rental car............? :-[

Actually I've wondered how he even gets from the FSU games to the Bucs games some weekends.... I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

How do you not get from Boston to Washington in 17 hours? Even the trains would have gotten him there on time.

FOX's Sam Rosen called the Rangers NHL game on MSG in New York on Saturday. That game didn't get over until almost 11 PM, yet he made it to Washington on time.

Ask Jeff Ryan, He's the Broadcast Manager for the Buccaneers.

Doesn't Jeff Ryan also do evening drive on the country station in Philadelphia? ;)
