A tremendous loss, obviously. Condolences go out to his family and friends.

I was always amazed at Buddy. He is the only engineer I know that would show up to fix your transmitter, while wearing a tie. That struck me as class...he ran a business, and he dressed and conducted himself in a business-like manner.

In 1993, I called Buddy to come to Hawkinsville, as the FM was off the air. It took him a while to get there, but only moments after he arrived, the phone rang. It was Big Jim Popwell, and he wanted to talk to Buddy. After more than a few minutes of listening to Jim bellow about this, that and the other, Buddy finally "Mr. Popwell, do you want to listen to you gripe and complain, or do you want me to fix your transmitter? Either way, it's fifty bucks an hour, and we've talked for nearly twenty dollars." Needless to say, Jim quickly got off the phone I loved it.

Always hate to hear about anyone seemingly dying too soon. Condolances to the family, and R.I.P. J.T.G.
______________

When I was Station Manager at WKXH in Alma in the early 90's, I had no regular engineer. Several problems happened to our FM Transmitter and I called Buddy for help. His knowledge and professionalism was second to none. There are not enough Buddy's in the business today...my thoughts and prayers are with his family and CC Albany.

Buddy and I go all the way back to the great rat killing at WQDE in 1974. Through all my radio years Buddy was one of the few constants in my life. Keep Karen and the kids in your thoughts and prayers. Farewell my friend..

I will be attending the funeral tomorrow in Albany. Buddy was a class act and a great engineer. He will be missed.

I just heard about this yesterday and I must say it was a great shock. In my early years of learning engineering, Buddy was always willing to come to my aide and answered any questions I had, no matter how simple he may have thought it was. Buddy Green, along with Clyde Scott, have always been great inspirations to me, and Buddy will be greatly missed.
______________
