He will hold off to the last minute to formally announce it.He won't be able to stay on the air either after he makes it official.If so,Theres a cut right there for citadel Providence and Cianci will have something to fall back on.

Although, It would be a good race to watch because he could do some serious damage to Pretty buy Patches campaign.

Again radio and Politics hand in hand in Rhode Island.


I am curious on his legality to run in Congress even though its a perfect fit.(make own joke here)
 
At this point, why would he run? If he walks away from Channel 6 and WPRO, it will likely be years before he has the opportunity to earn such a hefty salary. At his age, Cianci has to be thinking about leaving something for his grandkids. Sure, he can generate interest by claiming he is "thinking about" running. In the end, I bet he stays in the media.

Because politics is in is blood and he can't walk away from it. It looks like he will always have the media to fall back on when things don't pan out but given the choice between being the mayor and being called the mayor, he'll always choose being the mayor. Don't worry about his having anything to leave to his grandchildren.
 
Buddy Cianci as Mayor of Providence one last time......(assuming he would legally be able to do it)......would be the perfect capstone to a very long and colorful career.

Buddy's life and times haven't exactly been the makings of a Frank Capra movie.......more like one of those grade B gangster movies from Columbia Pictures in the 1930's or 40's....LOL.

OR.....how about a run for Congress in the First District? Buddy Cianci....the glib, no-nonsense gadfly with an independent streak a mile wide......tackling and toppling Mumbles...OOPS!!...I mean Patches Kennedy. Buddy Cianci as giant-killer.....another great storyline, huh?

And....whoever does the books for Citadel Providence must be praying Novenas that "Hizzonner" actually does something that takes him off 630's air....and payroll. ;)
