Buddy's Clout ?

Does the Mayor have any juice left ? Every candidate he wanted out ended up winning. First he bashed Taveras during the primaries and he won. Post Primary he spent every hour of every day bashing Chafee with some alternating shots at Ciciline. They both won. He also took credit for the Republicans dumping their candidate and supporting Bob Healey. He lost too.

Well it showed that Buddy didn't have enough influence to change anything. So it's bad for him if that's what he was hoping to do.

In a 7 person race like the governor's race or a 4 person race like the Congressional primary or Mayoral primary, the vote gets split too many ways. Chafee pandered to specific groups to help bolster his base/core supporters and win (65% of the state voted against him!). In all he never ventured far from 30-33% of the vote he started with and Robitaille could have used some support from the National Republican Committee and a stronger state committee as he probably would have pulled it off if he had that. Same goes for John Loughlin (although the looming federal charges swirling around City Hall actually happening if the US Atty ever getting off his butt and getting the Grand Jury to review what they have instead of waiting until after the elections-a courtesy to a Mayor who also is a lawyer!?!)...anywho, stepping down from the soapbox. No one radio host has that juice anymore (Rush didn't even bat .1000 & look at Helen's support of the Tea Party/Clean Slate objective that fell flat)

i have to admit watching Buddy C on 6 last night was a bit disconcerning. He seemed to have trouble talking. He stuttered quite a bit and literally struggled to remember evey name he wanted to refer to. I haven't listened to his show in quite a while and would imagine his smoother with preperation. But last night he sounded like better days of broadcasting were behind him, at least when asked to adlib. It would be easy to say he may have tipped a few before but i don't think that was the case. It just wasn't something you'd expect from someone with his track record

I have for quite sometime wondered if and I am being or guessing if he is pre dementia, and this is why Ron, is doing more to straighten out Buddy's thought process.

Hmmmmmm...... You mean kinda like how Mary-Ann Sorrentino would have to "baby-sit" Sherm Strickhauser during his air shift, following his stroke?

Sorta makes you wonder......

Bob Kerr, I heard Buddy read the info. I thought Kerr commented on the candidates that lost??

Also, I do think that the results are deplorable. I forsee in a few years Rhode Island or portions being like Oakland/Berkeley Calif, sanctuary cities and state.

Baffles me that certain unions that are involved with children, sell their ethics, conscious for perhaps higher pay, no scrutiny of work performance, endangering children by removing any executive orders.
