Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame

Congratulations and a note of thanks for a job well done by the Buffalo Broadcasters Association and the 2009 inductees to the Hall of Fame. It was an enjoyable evening of camaraderie and tributes to and for many fine professionals and radio stations. Very likely, the Buffalo event will be documented and reported by Scott Fybush who was in attendance this evening.

It's a great group of inductees this year, congratulations to them all. Now comes the question of who NEXT year's inductees should be.

If we listed all the great performers we've enjoyed hearing over the years in Western NY who are worthy of the honor, we'd have to induct a hundred at once (including, BTW, some folks who frequent this board). Speaking as an outsider from Rochester radio ranks (not currently eligible to join the Buffalo broadcasters' association, AFAIK) who was once inside the Buffalo market, I'd like to begin with a suggestion we honor with enshrinement more of the great news guys who kept us informed. We've already justly honored John Zach and the late Henry Brach--so let me suggest adding Lou Douglas, the late Jim McLaughlin and the late Jack Ogilvie to their ranks of honorees.

You most certainly are eligible to be a member of the Broadcasters Association.
There are members situated all over the country.
