Buffalo-Niagara Falls 12+

Surprised there's been no discussion of the latest Buffalo 12+ trends. Have we become that ambivalent or is it just the summer doldrums? WYRK, Buffalo's only Country FM on top of the heap... again. WBEN slipping into summer. Looks like Kiss and WBLK are enjoying their best 12+ ratings in quite some time while WJYE, Star and 97 Rock appear to rebounding. WHTT couldn't have changed format any sooner. Well, it could have, but chose not to. WBUF, WGR and WEDG aren't exactly tearing it up. But then again, it's 12+, yada, yada, yada. Please, no wagering. We now return to our regularly scheduled malaise already in progress.

I am wondering what the next book will look like for WHTT now that they have returned to classic hits and not mirroring WTSS and WJYE. It will be interesting.

WBEN needs to resume a local evening show. That's the one change it's made since they were #1 last year, dumping the local night show, and it clearly didn't do them any good.

As to WGR, they seem to be hurting whenever the Sabres and Bills aren't either playing or in training camp; the spring lull kills 'em especially after a season when the Sabres don't make the playoffs and don't extend their season into May or June. That may be just a seasonal thing with the sports talk and PBP format in a town where both major league pro teams play between September and April, there's no major league baseball team to carry the station through the summer, and there's only one Division I college program starting to make a national mark (along with a couple others currently in the doldrums)--but is it something they may be able to correct? And if so, how?
