Good research Bayou_City_Bob.
Your link shows that the registrant of record for www.espn975.com is David Yates, Plano, Texas.

Don't know if this is the same person who registered that domain but a guy named David Yates hosts a home show on WBAP News/Talk 820 in Arlington, Texas, Sundays 1-3 pm.
Show information page: http://www.wbap.com/showdj.asp?DJID=1418

According to WBAP's website their sister stations are:
96.3 KSCS; 96.7 The Twister; ESPN 103.3; AM 620 - Radio Disney
http://www.wbap.com

According to his info, the same David Yates also hosts The KTRH Home Improvement Hotline show, Saturdays & Sundays from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. on 740 KTRH in Houston, a CC station.

Just a hobby, guys. When a rumor seems possible, I'll register the domain and give it up to a station if they want it (for no charge, I might add). This rumor seemed possible, so I registered several domain names (among them, 975espn.com and espn975.com), in addition I also registered www.POWERTALK971.com based on the rumor that CC might flip that station next year (http://www.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,48896.0.html).

I don't work for Cumulus and can't say what they might want for a website if they flip, but if they want the domains, they are welcome to them! BTW, I have about 100 "podcast" names registered if anyone is interested in them (for a small fee).

Thanks for the extra information David.
I saw what was happening to hosts in D/FW (Mark Davis, Terry Dorsey, etc.) and stations who didn't secure their domain names. Guys like Live 105.3's Russ Martin would register them then move them offshore and have them point to a porn site or the like. Had I known people were watching I might have pointed them to KBME's or KILT's website - that would have created some confusion! : )

Really, for $8.00 ea. I don't know why stations don't lock up every possible name (that goes for politicians, too). BUT, just because a domain points to a station's website doesn't mean anything (case in point).

Has anyone followed that link to www.espn975.com? It leads to SuperTalk 97-5 webpage.....there's your answer.

That must have just happened today. I followed the link last night and it went to a parked page on godaddy.com.

IT takes up to 72 hours for the DNS to "populate" but GoDaddy usually takes less than 12.
