I know this silly, but I just saw that Buick played a part in both WBT and KFAB.
WBT Charlotte and KFAB Omaha are the two class A stations on 1110 khz. Both are non-directional days, and protect each other after sunset with a tight directional pattern. KFAB is the reason WBT can't be heard in Gastonia after sunset. KFAB also has a null toward Charlotte, but it doesn't exclude any part of their market in the way WBT's null toward Omaha does.
KFAB calls were requested by Nebraska Buick dealer Harold E. Sides in 1924, standing for "Keep Following A Buick."
WBT calls were assigned in 1922, but in 1925 the station was sold to Buick dealer C.C. Coddington. He promoted the station with the slogan "Watch Buicks Travel."
