Building 900MHz STLs

Has anyone here built their own 900MHz STLs ?

I'd be keen to know how you went about the design and what modules etc that you used.

I believe the transmitter would have to be either Type Accepted or Type Approved, a pricey business. You might find someone's RF module which would work. But, at a dollar an hour, your time would likely cost more than a refurbed commercial box.

Unless you use an IP product which is "part 15" to send and receive the ethernet connection and use wma or barix.
