Was Clear Channel ever in the building that Cumulus is now? And wasn’t Clear Channel in a different building than they are now on Music Row?……Of did I dream all of this?
Yeah that kinda rings a bell now. I seem to remember 106 ( WLAC?) being in that building. Not sure what format it was but Chris Romer worked there I think and they had a motor home as a remote vehicle.Don't know if Clear Channel was ever there, but WLAC was in that building at one time. WLAC was a Keymarket property, though I think Keymarket and Capstar did a deal that netted Capstar WLAC AM/FM and WJCE 101.1 to combine with its WSIX/WRVW. Can’t remember if that was a sale or a swap, though. Sometime after that deal, either Capstar, AMFM, or Clear Channel, which acquired that cluster when it merged with AMFM, moved the WLAC properties into the WSIX/WRVW building. I don’t think the entire cluster was ever in the location where Cumulus is now.
Ouch!! Now my head hurts!...I'm one of the Kent's but never lived in Sumner County...I think you guys are thinking about the WLAC studio being where Cumulus is now during the Sudbrink days, rtc. I don't think LAC was ever where the Q and MAK were on Division. Let me think this one through. I have to think about where SIX was as well now. Seems like it was near where the iHeart studios are now on Music Square headed from the Roundabout toward Hillsboro Village, the most "original" and majestic area left in Nashville. Dang. Was Star 106 in the building that would become today's iHeart studios next to the RDF tower where Hippie Radio is currently? I seem to remember large lights in the lobby during Star 106 and the building looked great back then. I remember WJCE being The Juice and Jazzy and being in a closet in the formative years of that move in. Anyone remember 101.1 as being distant Country format called The Beaver? KentB are you still in Sumner County? (assuming you are the ole Kent on here years back?)
