Bull on TV

What's up with The Bull on TV again, what a waste of money for a station that was DOA. CC must be writing a new chapter on bad radio, how much money do they need to loose before they flip again.

Go figure, and guess what they changed slogan again. After reading Rodney's blog on the ratings you really have to scratch your head and ask why? Rodney do you have any numbers on the Bull's morning show it's got to be near the bottom it is bad on every level.

I seen two TV spots over the weekend... The word weak came to mind both times!

I'll bet CC misses the 4 share they had with Lite...or the 6 share they had with Peach... or the success they enjoyed under Randy Michaels.

I've listened to both morning shows. Kicks wins hands down. While Cadillac and Jim have been there for years, I've learned that Kristen has lived here since she was a kid. And the three seem to have chemistry. The guys at the Bull don't even begin to sound like they know or care what is happening here.

I wonder if Kicks will do another one hour infomercial for the Country Music Awards. I thought the one they did over the summer was a smart programming move. I've seen their morning gang on Channel 2 promoting a contest - but no show.

Big D and Bubba don't care what's going on here, because they aren't here. They're piped in from Nashville, IIRC. Heads up, CC. People can tell when a station's tracked, especially when your jocks do nothing to set themselves apart as personalities, and barely identify themselves or the station they're on.

I know, I know, it's a business model. But if you're so vanilla and generic that few people want to listen, how long do you expect to stay in business?

CC needs to Fresh-en up, The Bull.

I only have the Bull's 6 to 10 a.m. numbers and Big D and Bubba air from 5 to 8. Nonetheless, the Bull morning numbers slightly lag behind the rest of the station... The station is ranked 17th 25-54, 19th 18-34, 18th 12-plus. The 6 to 10 a.m. rankings are 19th 25-54, 20th 18-34 and 20th 12-plus. Night time was the strongest weekday demo given that the Braves aired most of the time: 15th 25-54, 9th 18-34 and 8th 12-plus.

In comparison, Kicks is ranked 8th 25-54, 12th 18-34, 4th overall. Mornings: 9th 25-54, 15th 18-34, 7th overall. Middays: 7th 25-54, 10th 18-34, 4th overall. PM drive: 7th 25-54, 11th 18-34, 3rd overall. Evenings: 9th 25-54, 12th 18-34, 9th overall. Weekends: 5th 25-54, 8th 18-34, 4th overall.

Did somebody say "Atlanta country station in need of a familiar name morning show"?

Yeah baby!

No...nobody said that.

Uggghhh...he's the reason everybody who doesn't listen to country thinks country music fans are redneck and ignorant. Nothing against the guy - but his schtick is old.

I am the quintessential lurker. I read, but rarely post. I am not a programming guy, but I do know what my wife likes, and to be honest she listens to nothing but the Bull. And believe it or not, her favorite thing about the bull is the Morning Show. She's a jaded radio-wife of 14 years, and has heard me rip programming a new one night after night, and for her to be so crazy about waking up and having those guys on while she gets her morning routine going says alot. She calls me on my cell to tell me what they do almost daily. That's a good sign. Her only complaint up to this point has been that their show is over before she even gets in the car. The Bull's idea of a morning show ending at 8am is ludicrous. How can you get honest morning ratings from a midday guy? That more than anything is where they are missing the boat. I get the idea that people wake up earlier, but radio revenue is based on the Arbitron way of doing things, and in Arbitron world last time I checked, mornings were 6am till 10am. Piped in or not. The show works on my wife, and she's in the heart of 25-54 and a Sandy Springs girl since the day that she was born. Take them off of overnights & actually put them on in morning drive. If not for any other reason than to appease my wife. OK. fading back into the wallpaper again. Keep on keepin' on. You entertain & inform me.

Always nice when Big D & Bubba check in!

The commericals are awful...

I just saw it... TERRIBLE.

There isn't even one country song on the whole thing... what are they thinking?

Appropriate question for a country station who's been heard playing Fleetwood Mac...

I agree...just saw the commercial last night...

...really...really...bad

Also saw that Kicks is doing another special on Channel 2 for the Country Music Awards. I liked what they did over the summer. Anybody else catch it?

Okay, if they wanna compete to be the at work station again, CHANGE BACK.

Obviously country isn't working out...
