Bull Telemarketing?

Got an interesting call the other night. The young lady went through the blah blah of asking me a few questions about my listening habits, and then gave me a pitch on why I should listen to The Bull. I haven't really seen this approach before.

Call center telelmarketing for a station? Anyone ever seen it?

Actually, I got a call from Kicks the other day. The young lady was very polite. She seemed a little "off her script" when I told her I could not participate in her contest, as I work in the radio industry. I thought it was an interesting approach to marketing. It looks like Kicks and the Bull are getting serious about competition. This is getting VERY interesting!!

Re: Telemarketing

Over the holidays, I got a recorded phone call from B98.5's Jordan Graye (which was all Christmas music at the time) asking about the Christmas music, and to call a number to leave comments.

Radio is a business, and like all businesses use the power of telemarketing to annoy you at dinnertime.

BTW, I belive only nonprofits and pollsters (Gallup) are exempt from the do-not-call list.

It's more fun to lie about what you do for a living and then skew their data with outlandish responses. In fact, it's fun no matter who the telemarketer is. You'd be amazed at how long they'll stay on the phone. Then again...I have no life.
