Bullard, TX, to receive first aural service?

Yes, it'll be directional and the target, of course, is clearly Tyler. Another case of a shoe-horned move-in (downgraded from a C3 at Grapeland to a Class A at Bullard on 94.3) it's a "contour protection" station due to adjacent stations, namely KLNO 94.1 from D/FW and KRUF 94.5 Shreveport. As a side note the allocation was made possible by an allocation change for an unused frequency at Mount Enterprise; that one's also just for a Class A.

Now a little speculation: since the station will throw a city-grade signal over the south side of Tyler and, given the recent flips of both KDOK and KAJK to talk, could a a classic hits station reemerge?

An update to the story, from the FCC's Daily Digest: an application has been filed to transfer the construction permit for the station; the price is $500,000 and the buyer is Waller Media. This could get really interesting!

Interesting indeed......

Let the speculation commence.

I'll throw my $0.02 in.

Waller only runs 2 formats - Breeze and Brisa. They currently do not have a city grade FM signal for Brisa in Tyler. Brisa listeners in Tyler have an AM in Jacksonville, 102.3 HD-2 for the 4 people with HD radios, a signal on 103.1 that barely makes it into North Tyler.

Brisa on 94.3.

I'd say you're probably right on with that observation.

Hola, Tyler! Escuchando a La Brisa!
