Bulldog 103.7

Bulldog 103.7 is now also on 100.1 fm and has been for a few weeks. The call sign WPUP switched to 100.1 and the WXKT calls went to 103.7. It looks like they are in no hurry to do away with Bulldog on 103.7. They are not saying change to 100.1 all together, just suggesting to check out the new signal if you live in Athens. One guy referred to 100.1 "Laser beam Radio". What the heck is that? :) Do you think they will eventually move completely to 100.1 even though it is Class A @ 4,800 watts?

I think it's safe to say that Bulldog is staying on 100.1...good signal for their target demo. Whether or not they stay on 103.7 too is the question.

I can't tell from Recnet if the city-grades of 100.1 and 103.7 overlap (it's close), so they might be able to simulcast indefinitely if they don't. Not sure what they would get from that on the 103.7 side, although they do get I-85, Gainesville, and part of Gwinnett. Alternatively, not sure what else they would do with 103.7.

The CP to move 103.7 closer to ATL (Arcade) was in the works before Cox got involved.

I thought Cox would flip WNGC to something other than country...but that was before Eagle got blowed up and Bull was stillborn. No way does Cox touch that now.

Today I noticed that 100.1 WPUP was dropping out for a split second every few minutes. I guess there are still some issues with the new stick? The 103.7 feed was fine.

It looks like Bulldog is going to move to 100.1,I put my radio on 103.7 and it didn't sound the same. If they can reach more people on 100.1 that would make alot of sense.
