I realize visits to this board have declined over the past few years, with even fewer posts/responses; I think it's because of the deteriorating state of radio not only in Cincinnati, but the medium in general, terrestrial or satellite. When the bottom lines dictates Erik Deters is your 'go to guy' for every available shift, you know we gotta be near the bottom. Not only filling in for The Great American, but then returning for the American Idiot at nine, and any other time D. Parks deems appropriate. By the way, I thought CC had strict guidelines regarding unpaid commercial mentions? I guess the riotous, compelling and clever content discussing "Bulldog's Roadhouse" (which Deter's happens to own) makes up for the fact that said discussion might be perceived as a free commercial? But who's listening; I guess many by the measure of recent PPM results. And when Cunningham is the standard by which all others are measured on this once proud set of calls, it's no wonder that T. Jones, and his travelling stable of ringtones (Richard from Indian Hill, Rod from Norwood, and perhaps a few I've had the good fortune to have missed) is considered 'great radio'. So, what would you rather hear: repeats of Jones/Fingers, Cunningham, Sloaney, or live 'entertainment featuring D. Parks and his senseless sidekick Donald, or maybe another couple more hours of Deters gold. The desciples of Michaels' "band of renegades" are indeed winning; by default. I mean, what else is there to listen to? In a week prior to the Bearcats Sugar Bowl appearance, there was virtually no dial to turn, or preset to punch. Yeah, there was some discussion during Cunningham's post Kelly rants, but generally it was Mo in the afternoon, or Sports Talk at night (when not prempted by UC and or whatever). Pathetic really...tragic in terms of radio into the second decade of 'the new millenium'. And again, when the numbers are huge for the Big One following the UC and Bengal run, D. Parks will be ready to accept your handshake: you're a freaking radio genius D. So if it's so bad, why do I listen? Why are you reading this. Radio is
my career; has been for quite a while. I dig it. Love the idea of the one-on-one, the really clever; not the absurd circus that resides at 700. I'm merely a listener randomly scanning and sharing. My wife is always asking 'if you hate it so much, why are you listening...'. It ain't gonna change, so I guess I'm certifiable. But Deters still sucks.

Re: Bulldog

I'd much rather listen to the Bulldog anytime over Tracy Jones.

What a waste of prime time radio (3-6pm) to give it to the likes of 'Dingo and the Baby'.

I was going to say that listening to Eric Deters is like listening to trade-io, but that would be an insult to radio swap meets. Why doesn't WLW just host open mike days? I couldn't be any worse than listening to this amateur shill for his practice.

Deters does do too much shilling for his businesses, but so far, its still acceptable to me and more times than not beats most of the other shows on WLW.

His legal advice is great information. I don't like it when he spends time discussion trials which he is currently involved in, like the teacher and police chief cases. It doesn't seem right that he can pass out information to the jury pool before and during the cases.

Keep Deters in the rotation! He is as enjoyable as Willie and often more so than McConnell; and better than all the others.

Deters needs to stop shouting. When he does, I might listen. Maybe.

While we're here, 'Sensible Don' makes me reach to change the dial quicker than Deters, and that's saying something.

Deters is great...and without knowing the actual daypart breakdowns, the December numbers were way up on the station so his 2 weeks of shows on the station didn't seem to hurt it where it counts.
