Bumper Sticker Contest..A Thing of The Past

I have always thought that bumper sticker contests are one of the best (and economical) kind of promotions a radio station can do. They give you free outdoor promotion! Back in the 1980's, they were everywhere.

Are they still useful in today's markets?

Retired deejay (WFTL< WINZ, WQAM, WWOK, etc.) Bob Gordon had a good story about a bumper sticker promotion, WFUN's Lucky License Promotion, in his book,

The last time I heard a station do a bumper sticker promotion, it was in the late 90's, and, on my opinion, they were smart and creative with the idea.

It wasn't a bumper sticker though, it was actually a window sticker for the car, and they referd to it as being a "Win dough" sticker.
"Win dough...alot of dough, with a win dough sticker!"
I forget what station it was,(because this was a while back) but the idea was great.<P ID="signature">______________
