Business Journal: WLZR becomes WHQG

According to what I heard, the Business Journal is reporting, WLZR becomes WHQG "The Hog". Bob & Brian in morning, and, speculation is, older rock with heavy does of 80s rock the rest of the day.

If true, it appears that Saga is taking on WQBW almost head on.

If that is truly the case, it seems kind of brainless. Might as well bring back 93QFM in its same capacity and playlist from its final day.

Too bad the QFM calls are taken. Wonder if WLPX is available?

According to the reservation system, it's taken. Punch in WLPX here: FCC Callsign Reservation System

However, I'm guessing that Paxson (the holder of WLPX-TV Charleston, WV) is in a financial position to cut a deal. They already have the -TV suffix so they wouldn't even have to file any extra paperwork!

And what about WKLH?

Almost. WQBW just needs to rock a little harder. Its WKLH that
could take the bigger hit. What is Saga doing to protect that station?

I don't see how WKLH could take the bigger hit. It sounds like the Hog is going to be a slightly harder version of the Brew. The Hog is probably being designed to directly attack the Brew. Perhaps Saga should take KLH slightly softer than they are already to position themselves away from the Brew/Hog fight.

WLUM could end up getting a boost from all this.

I wonder if Saga will take WKLH in a slightly more AAA direction. Perhaps they'll get a bit deeper into their core artists' catalogs.<P ID="signature">______________

That... Or maybe they'll consider taking it in a more Español direction?

Or more of the acual classic hits direction, moreso than it was before they changed their name to classic rock (basically they always were a lighter classic rock, never a true classic hits).

I'm waiting to see them end up with a 3, 4, or 5 out of this... You know, kind of what Lazer has.
