But why crave?

There is a new Radio station in Vancouver.
Goodbye Z95.3
Hello Crave 95

Can someone please inform me on why the name Crave was chosen, instead of Movin' 95.3?

Thanks.

Something seems to be missing...ah yes,...where's the catchy jingles?

I've been listening to "Crave" for about a half hour so far. ("Movin" is probably a copyrighted intellectual property of CBS, I would imagine...) Even though their liners state "Music That Moves You," it doesn't seem to have a similar playlist compared to the crappy (IMHO) "Movin" stations that are in Seattle and here in Portland. It seems to be less dance oriented and more "up tempo." (It also seems more listenable) :)

Right now as I typing this they are playing some retro Duran Duran - "Rio", I'm not sure "Movin" would touch that song.

(Hopefully it won't have similar TV commercials as the Movin station in PDX showing showing random people shaking their arses into the camera to Sir-Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back")

Ok, all very good points, but I'm still surprised at the idea that they're refraining from airing "crave" jingles that blend in with the music a little better than the current voice over guy they're using now.

Perhaps after the "test drive" they'll air some catchy "crave" jingles of their own?

I am very glad they intend to add "hosts" in three weeks.
That is at least good.

I can only guess Astral now plans to cookie cut Crave...?

If so, I hope they can keep up with Chum/BCE group's new Energy101.5 station in Calgary.
They seem to have a similar idea in place there, but with a better feel to it.

So far, I think I'd much rather see Energy get the cookie cut.
