Buzz Changes.

I heard last night from a very reliable source that a "Big name" radio personlity is making a move from Albany Broadcasting/Pamal to the Buzz...If you mention the name, I will confirm.

Brian Cody? Can't see him leaving Fly... and do rimshot stations count? I noticed Kevin left 100.3 the Point (another Pamal station) in Glens Falls...

No, it's def not Brian Cody, he'e what Fly is to what Derek Jeter is to the Yankees.

Here's what the Buzz needs...IMO.

Change the format. Give Mark in the Morning a sidekick. I wouldn't fire him. And besides, he's on a contract I'm sure. Shake up the on air line-up. It's very bland. Do MORE remotes...Fly, B95, Jamz, they're everywhere!

Bring back Glen Stacey to the Buzz, at least as a consultant.

With all due respect to Jim Clark, he isn't a big name nor the big name I am referring too. MM, that is your hint.
Michael Morgan from Froggy 107.1? He was on Fly92 for years 80's into the 90's.

Hahaha - Mike Morgan is the "big name" you are talking about? Maybe 20 years ago but certainly not now. I didn't think he was still in the area.

Needless to say, if 105.7 did go with oldies for their new format, they'd easily kill WTRY and WCKM. 105.7 has a pretty decent signal to the north, south and west, but is significantly nulled to the east by first-adjacent 105.5 (WVEI-FM Springfield). WTRY and WCKM also are first-adjacents, and you have a hard time getting either around Saratoga as well. :)

Any word of a format change yet? I'm presuming the Buzz name will be staying, as you mentioned it...

Prediction: stunting begins sometime on Christmas Day, new format launches either Monday (12/27 or 1/3) :)

There will be a format change, andf I'll be damed if I can't remember it...I could of swore he said they were leaning more toward CHR...

I have a feeling this one might be a CHR/rock, however... FLY is more Mainstream and Kiss is more Rhythmic... they could easily squeeze out Kiss FM (102.3 Lite FM or Fox Sports 980/102.3 anyone? Or they could just flip to a Rhythmic-only format and go up against Jamz instead :p)

Ah, if that's true, that'd lure in some former Channel 103.1 listeners, but would Q103 have to flip to Classic Rock or Mainstream Rock to reduce overlap? It'd also eat away at 100.3 The Point's Modern AC/AAA format as well...
