Buzz Changes.

We need a dance station playing dance from the 70's to today like KTU used to be. Or if not dance a better oldies station with a bigger variety from the 50's, 60's & 70's. Not another CHR, what are they thinking?

Why do you always say dance? Nobody wants that but you and you don't have a clue.
They have a staff in place that is local and will do a CHR not to beat Fly but to chip at it. I will be rolling tape on the 26th for launch.

Rock-leaning CHR is a good idea on paper, and might just work in Albany. The thing is, My Chemical Romance and Lady Gaga on the same station might drive people away... but it's been done on stations like WKRZ Wilkes-Barre, PA, WIXX Green Bay, WI, KMMT Mammoth Lakes, CA, and (I think) WDVD Detroit before and proven to be successful on those. CHR/Rock (aka Rock Top 40, Rock Hits, etc.) is definitely going to be a popular format in the upcoming years, and will be more successful than Jammin' Oldies or Jack FM ever was. :)

I think this will be the final nail in the coffin for both Mod AC/AAA 100.3 WKBE (which goes AC to chip at Star 101.3 in Saratoga/Glens Falls) and 102.3 Kiss FM (Fox Sports 102.3 WOFX-FM anyone? Or perhaps 102.3 Lite FM... maybe picking up the dumped WHRL calls?)

Edit: As for a slogan, how about "Today's Hit Music without The Rap", "Hits That Rock", or "Today's Hit Music with an Edge"? They'd all be a perfect fit for the new format :p

anything that says "without the rap" research shows can be viewed as negative and polarizing. I know some stations do it-- but I've seen a lot of research that suggests against using that.

Will the "Buzz" name definitely be kept, or will it be replaced? "Z105-7" (much like Q103, which I think should rebrand to "Q103.9" eventually) or "Channel 105-7" (taking on the Channel name, much like what Pamal did when the took the Edge name from WQBK after it dumped it) would be good for the station if they wanted to rebrand :)
