Buzz considering Whoopi?

94.1 The Buzz has been asked by a major research firm for its help in evaluationg a new radio program hosted by Whoopi Goldberg. Now we're turning to our best listeners...people just like you...for your feedback. Please respond to the short questionaire we have provided. Your opinion can have an affect on radio broadcasting throughout the United States

yaaay more nationally syndicated radio

THIS HAS to be a joke!
Is there really "Whoopi Radio?" ???
I've been away for a long time...but seriously, dudes...don't kid us about this.

WLIT-FM in Chicago just dumped their longtime morning host (4 years) for Whoopi. the sad thing is that their morning show pulled decent numbers.

This does not make sense for the Buzz, Whoopi's show seems like it would be more geared to RVR's demos, not the Buzz.

Considering that Kraddick is underperforming the rest of the station, it's obvious a change needs to be made. But this is completely the wrong answer. This is Clear Channel's David Lee Roth.

Unfortunately, WMBZ is not going to spend money to bring in a local AM show, so they are going to continue to struggle in the morning. What's next, John Tesh at night? ::)

Prediction: Whoopi is gone from all of her affiliates within 18 months, and Jim Ryan has his first failure on a major scale.

Whoopi's show will mysteriously disappear in the next two years, with the official statement saying she is leaving "to focus more on her acting career."

I come down on the side with those who think Whoppi will be short lived on radio. Contrary to what some might think, doing a live radio show every day is a full time job. Some local yokels (sp?) might be able to get by with holding down a radio gig and another job on the side, but it will not fly with someone doing a nationally syndicated show. Before you know it, Whoppi will be doing Sister Act Twenty Two.

Not much to see here...

I saw this subject this morning, and was curious myself. It was when it showed up in another station's "listener club" email, it got weird! There may be nothing to this, word is, this is a nearly national survey, that Entercom dispatched. Maybe someone here is joined into a similar email club in another Entercom market, that could confirm or deny? CFKane

i'm all for local morning radio if it's done right. personally, Kid Kraddick is the best morning show i've heard in a while and especially in this market. it has the right mix of people and a cast large enought to keep people interested. they also have the resources to get big name guests, do good production on bits and give away great prizes. if 94.1 drops Kraddick they'll lose me and then i'll just listen via Kraddick's website.
