BUZZ NO BOOST FOR WFTL

Two big news stories in the past week centered on the Nifty 850:

Joyce Kaufman's pick as Chief of Staff for Congressman-elect West,

and

the mysterious phone-in and e-mail threats that shut down half of Broward County.

Yet they're a mediocrity in the ratings in their home market (Palm Beach) and 34th in the market affected by those threats.

While it's true as much as J-C has tried to make its mini-blowtorch a player, none of its has stuck. It has a nice little niche but hard to tell if they are really making any money. And to be fair, it'll be a few weeks before we know what impact, if any, this latest incident has with PPM's. I vote "Little to none."

Agree and would like to know if their "sports counterpart, 640" is doing well. I listen to Big O. on way home from work and he has TONS of callers. It appears his followers follwed him. Good luck to him.

That woman is batshit crazy. Of course this won't boost their ratings. Who can listen to her ranting?

That station should be blown up. OR bring some voices with differing points of view. Right now it's just a bunch of loony tunes, led by Kaufman, the craziest of them all.

Anyone notice the new morning show on 850 this morning? Probably not. Wow. It was like listening to a car accident as the screaming child in a carseat was scratching his nails on a chalkboard. The old show was dull, but this one is off the charts. If you ever wanted a reason to NOT tune it, now you have it. At least Joyce is entertaining!

And isn't the host, Dave McBride, one of the original guys when the station was Live 85? (And we know how that went!)

Good luck, sales staff. You'll need it.
