BW DSPX range

Hi all

Sorry for the delay in posting more details about our products of late but there has been some big changes with the BW audio processing team including new members of staff.

We hope to be able to make 2008 a great year for our processors and I personally would like to thank you all for the support both on the forums and privately by phone and email.

We will most definitely unveil the roadmap here within 24 hours.

To get things kick started, we just uploaded a new version of DSPXmini-HD and a manual to the http://www.audio-processor.com website.
The mini-FM will follow in about a week.

Watch this space.

Scott

While you're thanking people, why not thank Radio-Info for all the free advertising your products are getting? Sheesh.

I don't use or plan to use any of the DSPX products. However, I don't feel they are getting any free advertising because most of the other companies frequent this, and several other boards. I enjoy hearing about software upgrades and any new product that may come out. Just my 2 cents.

I have three of their processing products. I'm very happy with all three, and I've found Scott to be a very big help whenever I've had questions. He has even responded on weekends. BW gets an "A" in my book. I also look after a vintage, but very nice, Orban 8100A. It sounds great too!

There are also discussions about Orban and Omnia products on this forum. I find them interesting too. Whenever there is a post about something I already own, I'm interested. I don't consider that "free advertising." I consider that helpful information.

Keep it up.

Rob
Frequenters of this board would know that several people have publicly asked for information on our products, it's a response.

Let me use this opportunity to announce that I have just moved to London and joined BW Broadcast and from now on will be working with Scott on further development of BW processors.

After using and adjusting various processors for my last 12 years in radio engineering, it was about time to cross to "the other side" and tackle the things on the design level. I've frequently shared my opinions of various processors and their sound on this board. Well, now it's time to put my money where my mouth is!

I will also be interacting with end-users and would like to use this opportunity to invite you to send me your comments on things you like and don't like about any of BW processors, so we can work on things that need improvements. As an end-user myself I strongly believe user feedback is invaluable, so please don' hesitate to send us your comments. If you have a few minutes to spare, write a few lines right now! You can send them directly to me at [email protected] or post it on the board.

Without further a due, let me address some questions on the new software releases:

The new software for DSPXmini-HD available on www.bwbroadcast.com has just been released and includes adjustable low-pass filtering, improved look-ahead limiter and a new set of factory presets. There is also a manual available now.

We have just started working on DSPXmini-FM distortion control improvements and also new set of factory presets. You can expect a new software release by Monday, 10th March.

Next our focus shifts to DPSXmini-AM βeta release, which has been long awaited. We hope to have the βeta release available by the end of March.

It'll take some time to get me fully up to speed with the DSP code, but you can expect lots of new improvements in BW processors this year. As they say, the best is yet to come! ;-)

Regards,
Goran Tomas

I would like to congratulate you Goran. I hope you will have a great time and I am excited with your addition to the BW team from a DSPX user point of view. I think you're a honest guy and fit in well at BW.

From what I read so far no plans on changes to the dspx-fm/xtra in the near future? I could write a few wishes down but it looks like you're all busy as it is. ;)

Again the best of luck and I silently hope to receive some more nice presets from you with your skills and insight to the dspx design. ;D

Let me be the first, err, second to congratulate you on your employment with BW... I'm sure you will have a blast!!

Just be careful and don't EVER ride in the car with Roger driving. ;-)

Kind Regards,
David

Congratulations to Goran in first and BW not as last with this news!

The DSPX fm sounds great and I hope there will be less delay in the processing. With this it will be more nice to listen while you are talking and hearing the monitor output. In my opinion this is the most important, except from the clipper things you will do with the DSPX Mini. So as I said the sound is open and that's what I like about this processor. Keep up the good work!

Congratulations Goran!
I can confirm too that Goran is always ready to help no matter of time with presets and advice not only for DSPX range!
Let's rock and roll. I have DSPX-FM and i'm very happy with sound.

Good on you!

I was wondering how long I was going to have to hold onto that secret ;) What an exciting postition!!!

any time now we can expect a comment from Zeke!

congrats Goran.i thought something was up in reading between the lines in your past posts,as you seemed to move away from the Omnia 6 which you were so high on before. But you have to go with the wind in your new position and that's ok.i think you'll be a real asset to the BW team.as a personal owner and user(on air) of the DSP-X,DSP-Extra, and the Omnia 6ex,i can honestly say i liked the EXtra much better, mainly because the Ariane did wonders for the product. The Extra will soon be on air at a new Colorado FM start up.So now i am using the 6 on air and will probably get the new ONE FM for backup. To my ears, it is just hard to beat the CLARITY of the Omnia Products.I have done extensive comparisons both on and off air.Maybe you can bring something to the table in that regard.Just being honest in my evaluation.I must say Scott has always been there in the support role and is a TOP NOTCH individual. This is a tuff market to crack.Omnia and Orban are so well entrenched it is tuff for new players including Vorsis.I know you have a passion for processing as lots of us do and i wish you the best..

I would like to see some more info on the Xtreme...I'm quite excited about this product. Goran do you have any audio you can post straigt from the outputs? Like you did the O6 and 8100 ;D

Thank you all for your support! :) I'm very excited about this opportunity and I'm sure "the ride" will be most interesting and fun!

I will be working every day on these processors, so on a long term scale you can expect constant improvements and new things coming. We have a lot of models in production, so I'm afraid that some models that have been quite well developed will have to take the back seat at this moment (such as the DSPX and DSPXtra), but that doesn't mean we won't be making improvements to those processors as well. Actually, we plan to make some additions that will affect the entire range, and therefore X and Xtra will benefit from the improvements. In any way I would like to hear your[\u] comments and suggestions (F Mister and others) on these processors as well.

As far as Xtreme is concerned, we had a hardware manufacturing problems that unfortunately held up the production for quite a while. These issues have been resolved and as soon as we move from the current beta version to an official release of software, I will post a clip for you Stace. Just remember to actually demo the unit yourself, to get the full story and not just an excerpt ;)

Regards,
Goran Tomas
