By inference: Kent and Homer help solve where Springfield isn't

Recent fox network promo shows Kent Brockman of channel 6 asking Homer if he watches 6 news at 5, 6 and 11. Homer replied 5 and 11, but not 6 (I think "Animation Domination" starts at 6pm, but I wasn't paying close attention.)

What I take from this: Springfield isn't in a state that's within the Central or Mountain time zones!

Are people still trying to do this? They've been abundantly clear that it isn't in any one place.

Springfield is located in Oh-hiya-Maude, a state located between the Oh-hiya-Maude River and Lake Eerie. It is bordered to the east by Transylvania and East Virginia.

In the episode "Bart Star", Hank Hill of King Of The Hill makes a cameo appearance and states, "We drove 2000 miles for this?"

Aaaaannndddd...so what? The geographic and climate features alone should tell anyone with any sense it's not in any one place. As do clues like outlining the states that border Springfield...a configuration that excludes any actual location.

These clues are worthless. You acting as if the writers have a locations for the show, but are keeping it a secret. Reality is these clues pop up whenever they need something revealing for the purpose of a storyline. Such as Springfield havning a mountain for Homer to try and reach the top of, or Springfield havning a desert, ocean, lake, gets snow, a large ravine. Does any single state have all of these? I guess California does, but not in all one location.

Besides, if you're looking for meaninful tidbits, how about Barney having given a lecture at Villanova, Homer having recounted his misadevtures in trying to take a train to Harrisburg, and the jury of the damned having the starting lineup of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Makes about as much sense as most of the other guesses...it doesn't exist, by design. :)

They've had many episodes with facts that come out of nowhere, only apropos to that episode.
There's been many writers over the years.
It''s hard to think there's any cohesiveness to their subterfuge about the location of Springfield.
It's only something interesting for the conspiratorialists and people who are looking for truth in comic books and cartoons. ;D

Springfield was also struck by hurricanes at least once -- while the west coast of Mexico gets hurricanes, one appearing in California of any strength is extremely rare, due to the colder waters; any storm California gets from the tropics are remnants of storms that have fizzled out.

As for conspiracies, personally, even Kennedy Assassination and 9/11 conspiracy experts would have a hard time finding where Springfield is.

And don't forget they actually moved the town, so where it is now, isn't where it once was. It may have been in more than on state :)

I thought the conspiracy theory was that the Simpsons' "Springfield" was in Louisiana.

That's like trying to figure out where Gotham City or Metropolis are. Useless.
