Bye-Bye CBS-FM, Hello WMTR

For years, my parents had their kitchen radio tuned to CBS-FM. But today, after 101.1's flip from Oldies to "Jack" drove them away, I arrived to find they had switched to 107.1 The Breeze. It was mostly OK, but the music and presentation was boring them, plus they didn't care to hear about Monmouth and Ocean Counties all the time because they neither live in nor travel to that part of the state.

So, I gave them my GE Superadio III and tuned it to Classic Oldies WMTR's simulcast on 1170 WWTR... and now they're happy. No, they won't get to hear Cousin Brucie anymore, but it's the kind of music and on-air presentation they like. And with the Superadio's wide bandwidth mode on AM, the audio is actually more crisp and "hi-fi" than CBS-FM sounded on their old boombox!

I predict flipping CBS FM to Jack will spell big losses for Infinity.
