Bye bye Friday night 80's

That show on WOMX has been on since before I moved here in 1994. I was surprised it lasted this long, but we all knew it was inevitable. Now Mix 105 is doing Friday night 90's. Couldn't help but notice most of the songs they're playing were never actually played on Mix 105 in the 90's. Mostly hit songs that were played on WXXL.

Not really surprised since WOMX (105.1)& WOCL (105.9) are CBS properties they risk cannibalizing each other going after a strikingly similar demo, that said I don't really know what else they could do with 105.1. I wonder what the billing is like with 101.9 and are they even making a dent yet with 101.9 going after 106.7???

Last I heard WOMX was the top biller of the cluster.

My guess is that 80's is an aging demo and they want to target something a bit younger in 25-54, rather than the upper end.

It is the 4th highest biller in the cluster.

80's music, 25 years after the decade ended, suffers from a big disconnect with the core of the station, which is fairly concentrated in 18 to 39, nearly none of whom were even adolescents at the end of the 80's.

David, are you saying that WOMX is the fourth highest billing station in Orlando, or the fourth highest biller among the CBS Orlando cluster? There are only three stations in the CBS Orlando cluster: WOMX, WJHM and WOCL.

Yeah I had to do a double take as well?

How are you 4th in the cluster with only 3 stations that you own in that market?

Oops!!!
