I don't know how This VT'ed crap is working and to add more of it as in B101's case.I hardly listen to music stations in Providence.It bores me to death.Talk on WPRO is starting to get sicking too.
I like listening to Buddy but don't think he should be compaining all the time about Providence.Alot of Providence's problems has Buddy's roots.

Toby Knapp is a Clear Channel veteran of several stations in the South, including the once-great 93.3 WFLZ/Tampa, 106.1 Kiss FM out of Dallas, and Hot 99.5 in Washington, D.C. He is probably Clear Channel's most prolific CHR voice, as he is on many, many stations throughout the country. The only other Clear Channel jock that seems as prolific as Toby Knapp is Cisenie, based out of KIIS-FM in Los Angeles.
That station is terrible. The imaging and bumper voice is the worst. Now they're using Mix 104's liners.....90's, 2K, and today. It's a robot station and is depressing to listen to. I tuned in just for Matty with a clear signal. I'll just listen through the static rather than listen to anything coming out of Oxford. I like Kristen but not enough to hear her in various forms on different robot stations. Paul and Al are the only real show on that street......

Toby's number one in Dallas in his daypart for the target demo, number one here in his home market of DC, and easily has the drive to do the same thing on Coast.

why does matty keep getting shut down in other markets first Portland now this?? i dont get it ve listen to him for a long time now but last few years im not up at that time and where i work in se mass kiss isnt the best and coast was a good alternative and listened to him when i was working mornings!!

Amazing how much of a shoe string budget they must have to operate on to turn a CC acceptable profit.
Lessons:
1. Don't own shares in media conglomerates that haven't kept up with the times. I Heart Radio and HD radio are both after the fact, future business school case study failures.
2. Don't plan on a career in above unless you have the talent and desire to be syndicated to multiple markets, or you happen to be a movie celebrity's brother
3. Don't get too attached to a morning show in Providence

That's "Sisanie." And there are a number of Clear Channel jocks who are also as widely voicetracked, including KYLD/S.F.'s Nessa and KIIS-FM's Boy Toy Jesse & JoJo on the Radio.
I have not had the opportunity to listen, but is Toby Knapp going to be off of Premium Choice, or is he actually going to do a voicetracked, customized show for Coast? I know that a four-hour show takes only about an hour to VT, but with the number of stations that he is on, he must be extremely busy.

PD quoted as saying they needed a more music intensive morning show. In other words, Providence didn't warm up to Matty. Sorry but it's hard to get people to change their morning drive listening habits. It goes beyond the music. The only way is if the show they now listen to does something to alienate them. Pro-FM, HJY, Lite, and B101 have morning shows that have been around for years. Cat Country has undergone some changes over the last couple but I doubt any country listener is gonna switch to 93.3 because they play more music. Knapp tracks four different formats for CC. Whatever happened to jocks having an image that fit their format instead of changing hats with the music? Nobody but nobody is effective at everything.
They could have spent a little dough and at least have a familiar voice(s) read the liners. Will Gilbert is familiar enough.
Amazing how within a few years they have no live personalities. This is a station that used to be proud of it's personalities, had all their pictures hanging outside the sales office. What do they have out there now?
