True, but then again, what was a Hip Hop station doing along side a spanish station cluster? Doesn't fit in. They are probably going for sales, not shares and ratings. Besides, the 92.5 signal hasn't had these good of a ratings in a long time. I think we'll probably be surprised on this outcome.radioeye said:Ok, they are operated by the Hispanic market leaders, but. KINV 2.1 share, KXBT 2.0 and KXXS 1.4. Collectively they had a 5.5 between three stations. Now they want to split a 1.4 share? Maybe the research that they have indicates that the ppm future of Austin will be pop. The current Houston ppm results indicate Spanish pop rules, at least for now.

Kent said:I'm sure the idea behind having hip hop next to Spanish-language formats had to do with hip hop appealing to young Hispanics. After all, speaking Spanish is not a precondition of being Hispanic.
As for Recuerdo flipping, I have a feeling it may have been because the format appealed to too old of an audience.
DavidEduardo said:Average age of Recuerdo in markets like Dallas and LA is 36.
Kent said:I believe we talked about Recuerdo in San Antonio, which I seem to remember you saying skewed old, when it flipped to KGSX. Was that also the case in Austin? I also think you had mentioned something about it targeting the first generation from rural Mexico, of which there aren't many in San Antonio.
Mhh, I guess you're not listening to the music. They have Ne-Yo right along side Julieta Venegas. Please listen and take a wild guess who this station may be geared towards?latino2008 said:I've been streaming them for the last 3 hours and i hear their slogan always includes the Hitz fm ,kinda wondering why they are including english in the imaging ,to do that they might as well have gone with LA CALLE format like in Dallas!
