Bye-bye Rush?

So when does Limbaugh pack his bags for Costa Rica? Of course if he really wanted to avoid any nation that offers national health insurance he would have to settle for some place like Somalia instead.

Don't hold your breath...

As my long-suffering clients will testify, I'm agnostic at work.
Professionally, how-I-personally-feel is irrelevant.

If my client station has Rush Limbaugh, he's the biggest star on radio.
If, in another city, my station competes with Limbaugh, he's the biggest buffoon on radio.

As Tommy Lee Jones hollered back when Harrison Ford shouted "I didn't kill my wife!" in The Fugitive, "I don't care!"

Which makes me a dull person with-whom to-talk-politics.
I'm more interested in listening-to-the-conversation than what-the-conversation-is-about.

THAT SAID...Where the-stations-I-work-with HAVE Limbaugh's show, I'm disappointed today.
He sounds like his-side-lost.
We expect more, a distilled, undaunted "take" on last night's vote.

Like that-first-show-after he got arrested by Customs for trying to sneak someone-else's-Viagra into the country. His show open next day was brilliant: "How could that airline mix-up my luggage with Bob Dole's?"

THAT'S radio.
Today, he's down-in-the-dumps.
Beaten.

Rush never said he was moving to Costa Rica. He said he'd visit Costa Rica to get healthcare, the way people from other countries (that Canadian provincial guy for example) come here for healthcare.

Rush didn't move to Hawaii but got healthcare there.

And now you know, the rest of the story! :D ;)

He was against Clinton before he was for Clinton, during whose Administration Rush became a multimillionaire. If he was leaving America if the health care legislation passed, I would have to guess that he was against it before he was for it - kind of like the insurance companies who pretended to be against it when they wrote it. Insurance stocks soared today. Since I have not listened to him since he said he would support Bill Clinton for President and then claimed it was a joke to make a point, I am not sure of the context of his commentary about leaving America; however, I would venture a guess that it is the same old story, same old song and dance as the song goes.

Limbaugh has said some odd things over the years that often get passed over. While nothing like Glenn Beck's embarrassing video of his stay in a hospital, I remember after the 2006 elections when Republicans first lost Congress Limbaugh went made an anti-Conservative tirade and said he hated pushing water for them but the next day it was back to status quo. We'll probably never see or hear the real Rush Limbaugh.

I don't know if Limbaugh says this nonsense, but many wingnut hosts talk of a coming civil war in this country. Ironically, it is those very hosts who are doing their darnedest to START a civil war, with all their untruths and misinformation.

Only an intelligent person can argue using facts. Any idiot can argue using made-up information.

People think Limbaugh is so smart. I never did. He twists the truth to make his case. Hannity is 10X worse. Beck is off the charts.

Interesting coincidence that there isn't a single college degree between the three of them.

Larry Flint didn't go to college either. Yet he runs one of the more successful smut organizations in this nation.

Success just always equate greatness.

Ted Turner does not have anything but an "honorary" college degree and he became a billionaire. Edison and Einstein (to whom I am making no compariosn among talk-show hosts) were both considered idiots by their school teachers. Edison was called "addle-brained." A piece of paper represents an ability to learn, but it does not confer wisdom or intelligence.

But there are the top 3 talk shows on the radio today.
...just like, somewhere out there, there's a top three buggy whip manufacturers in the world. Hate Talk radio is making itself into the buggy whip manufacturers' association of America...

If radio is the buggy whip industry, that's not only because of "hate talk radio."
