Bye Bye Scott Shannon in mid-days at True Oldies 106.7

Let's sort through some facts. Forget his style or whether you like him on air. He thought the format up and gave Gary all the boundaries to do maintaince...(think "Jan Jeffries does delegation" ) cause at the end of the day, Scott, as a VP of Citadel and morning host of WPLJ has more to do than schedule music. I'm amazed he gets done all he does.

He's stayed employed back to back for decades by reinventing himself, and his NY numbers are sure stronger than Leslie Fram's folks.

TOC filled a void in many markets and if anybody thinks a younger sound like Good times Great oldies will work...THIS time..they're wrong.
If any thinks the River is "vulnerable" never underestimate the marketing strength and research of Cox. I don't get their success either. But it's consistant.

Fact the most listened to channel with baby boomers on XM is the 60s channel? Why?
Well the music was good, for one thing. But you couldnt hear that music anywhere else.

in the biz, behind shannon's back he is refered only by his intiials, the radio SS. Good ridence to him... He never let anyone else on the air but himself, he repeats bits every 8 to 12 hours and frankly he's yukker... A class A$%hole... An ego the size of NYC... Basically a really nasty person, IMHOP. :p

I understand very well what you're saying, just over a year ago the True Oldies Channel came on the air in my town, and I was a fan of their Facebook page...I recently posted a nice, positive comment about the one year anniversary of the TOC being on the air in my city, and the pride I thought I felt for my local TOC radio station, and my wishes for the future of the TOC, but that big-headed jerk Shannon deleted my comment...I am now wishing Cumulus would tell Shannon to hit the road, he's not going to have a job with them.

Fortunately, my city has another oldies station that gets much better ratings anyway!
