Bye bye Sierra Wave, hello Alt 92.5 in Independence

The longtime Sierra Wave 92.5 KSRW adult contemporary format has been dropped. It is now ALT 92.5, playing Alternative music for the eastern Sierra.
Glad I have a good two dozen or more airchecks from the old format. The AC format will be missed. All types of rare stuff now gone from the Eastern Sierra dial.
I discovered them in May 2013, all by accident. I expected KSRW to be one of those same ol' same ol' Dial Global satellite formats. WOW WAS I WRONG! Think of Neil Diamond to Melody Gardot, The Corrs to Jimmy Buffett, and then add dozens of smooth jazz tracks in. That was the AC format.
I do wish the new station all the best. Hopefully someone in the eastern Sierra can restore the AC format in the near future.
