bye bye the X @ 1005.....ideas?

Couldn't really pick you up up here in Cullman anyway although I sure tried.....noticed today @ 1 pm, at least on the internet stream, the vintage vault kicked off?

So...Citidel....why can't you guys leave alternative on one of the HD subchannels....much like they left oldies on the new york channel when they converted....(i think they left the stream online too)

Might force some people to get some HD receivers (or just serius or XM...although I feel sorry for Gino, Mark, and especially Amber....a computerized jockless station isn't all that fun).

I've had some radio experience....I've worked for locally owned radio in Cullman, I've worked for Baldwin Broadcasting in Mobile (whom own/ed 92 zew and oldies 106.5 before it became the pirate) and recently i've talked to Big River Broadcasting up in Florence.....notice there are no corp. radio companies listed :)

I wish you guys luck....keep in touch with us.

obviously the computer was programmed an hour off.....the vintage vault that normally plays from 12 to 1230 played from 1 to 130....

Question is...if Citadel did put the "X" on one of the HD subchannels, how many people would be able to listen to it (those who actually own an HD radio)? Of those who do own one, it's quite possible they wouldn't be able to receive it, anyhow, since the HD signal does not go out as far as the analog signal. There are already issues with people being able to hear WRAX's analog signal as it is now.

I've read online where WRAX has a MOR/soft AC channel on one one of their HD subchannels and, although that might interest me, based on what I've read about the performance of HD radios on the HD board, I definitely don't want to shell out the money for one. Citadel would be better off just streaming alternative online.

i couldn't agree more about HD signals....and i know even if they did it....(a) i don't have an HD receiver and (b) i can hardly get 100.5 here anyway....(c) i can get the stream....and listen ... eh... occasionally.

streaming aside tho, we have to ask the real money making question - how do you make money from steaming only?
