Bye Bye WSKO

Most won't agree with me, but as far as quality of content, the Score's morning show (Gresh & Zo) was much more comprehensive than WEEI.

Yes, EEI got the bigger name guests, but there is a clear "Boston" bias to all of their takes. At least with Gresh & Zo, the facts could be presented and there wasn't a lot of "Hometown Harry" syndrome.

Big loss for RI. Not to mention for me and my "Jungle" fix in the afternoons.

Besides radio, the Score did their fair share of contributing in the community including attending and promoting statewide fundraising events!

Thanks a lot Citadel, you have now crossed into Clear Channel territory.

Anybody remember the following post made 4 whole days ago from an employee of The Score? It looks like the people on the trail may want to wake up and realize that they are totally clueless about what's going on inside that building. Who will be the next Citadel knucklehead with a false sense of security? Anyone else want to come forward now? Let's go. Speak up.

A sad day for Rhode Island radio. However, it wouldn't be the first time that someone went to work and found out that their position had been eliminated...just ask John Colletto about that.

Oh I agree. There is lots of great talent out there who undeservedly lose their jobs. My condolences go out to those people. I hate to see anyone lose their job. But the point is that we all felt that this day was coming. It was just a matter of exactly "WHEN". Citadel has the Providence market targeted on their calender this week. It's not the time for any Citadel employee to get cocky and think they are safe. The cocky one will be the next person out the door.

Agree 100%. Gresh and Zo were a terrific show and easily the best football show going. Hope they stay a tandem and get another gig within listening distance. I know Gresh has a new weekend show of his own on ESPN radio. Maybe he and Zo can tagteam because they are really funny together...and VERY knowledgable.

I want my Yankee Baseball ! This is New England Trash Radio !

Everyone wanted something different on one these stations.
Everyone wanted an Oldies Station.
Some even suggested simulcasting WPRO on WSKO -FM.
So why the tears?
They are giving us what we wanted.

I'm sure it will be Imus in the morning and TRUE OLDIES all day. I think that is what most of The affiliates are doing.

Damn management!

The Score wasn't just about out-of-town sports like WEEI is.
They could cover Friars and Rams and P-Bruins and Pawsox.
"LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL."

But the same management who visited that out-of-town DAVE BARBER has done it again.
LESS-local programming now.

ANOTHER job Matt Allen didn't get!
