Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios on Tuesday announced a deal to acquire 11 broadcast television stations from USA Television Holdings LLC and USA Television MidAmerica Holdings LLC for $290 million. The stations will continue to be managed by the current team of USA TV and Heartland Media.
So when this is all approved and such WFFT-TV in Fort Wayne (2nd largest in the group,) WLFI-TV in West Lafayette and WTHI in Terre Haute...joining with Allen's previous station holdings in Evansville's WEVV-TV. Add them in with The Weather Channel and the joint operations of Entertainment Studios and Sinclair of the Fox Sports Networks...and what's really going to change locally? (WFFT, my local station, airs a LOT of court type programs and such in weekday time and reruns when not in Fox Sports programming on the weekends.) And the WFFT news...only on at 10 PM 7 days a week, well...it needs help or pull the plug.
