Byron Dobbs RIP

RIP. I worked at CHK AM&FM in '73, 5:30 to midnight signoff. 4 music genres in 6.5 hours -- classic country to 7, country gospel to 8, Top 40, then easy listening 10 to midnight. Don't forget those "Childre Chevrolet times" on the :15s. Johnny Weaver, Larry Cavendish and Sheila (whatever) were also around then. My then wife and I were newlyweds and all we could afford was that tiny apartment over the garage next to the station. Byron joked a lot around the station that our daytime "bed squeaking noises" could be heard inside the station and on the air! I've talked to him several times over the years and he always brought it up, laughing.
He will be missed.
