C. Michaels Out @Kiss94.5

turnitup

WABI-TV had a report this morning concerning Kiss 94.5 mid-day hostess Cindy Michales being let go.
Apparently she did not agree to a non-compete in her new contract and was fired on Monday.

Tough when the only way you can keep employees is by enforcing or forcing them to sign non-competes! Whatever happened to having a work environment where you WANTED to be there, not that you were FORCED to be there ???

I can't believe she wouldn't sign it! CC Bangor is such a great place to work! They give their employees bread and water every day at noon ... workers get an hour a day in the exercise yard ... and they only do OCCASIONAL body cavity searches. What's SHE bitchin' about?)

Are Non-Competes Banned in Other States?

Non-competes are already banned by statute in some states. In California, non-competes are unlawful in all industries. Non-competes are now unlawful against broadcast industry employees in Massachusetts, Maine, and Arizona Illinois and the District of Columbia. Similar bills are pending in other states.

these hardly seem like cases of someone being fired. sounds like contracts running out and station and talent unable to agree on a new contract.

is this the case?

Spank.. unfortunately it's not! It's Larry Julius the market manager playing a heavy hand. One can only hope he's assigned a special place where he only receives static for eternity ;D

Let's just hope they don't subject us to even more Rick Tyler.

Aw now, come on. Couldn't we have him voice track mornings at Oldies WGUY 102.1 when they're not running the infomercials? And what about evenings on The Fox 101.7? If we're lucky, he'll take middays at The Bear 104.7. And oh yes, couldn't he just take the reins of the "Maine Traffic Network"?

Seriously, are the Maine Traffic Network updates the biggest waste of airtime????

Clear Channel Taps Larry Julius For DOS/Maine

“Larry is an exceptional sales and management executive,” commented Clear Channel Maine Market Manager/General Manager Jim Herron. “We are fortunate to recruit someone with his depth of experience, leadership skills and motivational management talent. Julius’ radio sales career spans more than twenty years including executive positions with Interep Corporate, McGavern-Guild, Lighteningcast, John Blair Company and Infinity.
