C-SPAN's one night of glory

C-SPAN carrying the White House Correspondents Dinner is pretty good TV. Tonight didn't disappoint with Trump in the audience and Obama shouting him down once again. Seth Myers was also quite good, though even he made fun of C-SPAN. I thought this was the best tv on any network tonight, for what it's worth.

FWIW i think a hundred years from now Obama will still be refered to as Obama. Just as I can say Reagan, Kennedy, Ford, Clinton, Bush. And you'd know i was refering to presidents.

Does anyone know if a replay of the Dinner can be seen online, I dont have cable. I poked around cspans site without luck.

Though it's Bush that would require some clarification, considering that we had two Bushes for president.

Not to mention those Adamses, Johnsons, Roosevelts, and Harrisons.

As one who is not especially a respecter of persons as it pertains to partiality, I note the following:

Mssrs. Trump and Obama might appear to the next generation as some of those old post cards you find at the junk shop, because today's generation hasn't a clue as to who either of those gentlemen might be, as indicated on some of the man on the street sketches done by Leno and a few others. It appears that C-Span is admired because the viewer felt as though his/her ideology had been stroked.

C-Span is always informative. They set up their cameras and leave. The real test of one's mettle is the ability to form one's own opinions after paying attention to hearings without anyone telling you what to think about it, and without reading the e-mail talking points, etc.

A lack of agreement with somebody does not mean that person is attempting to control the boards. It rather shows the agreement of the person making the statement with the person with whom the alleged control freak disagreed.

I always have respect for C-Span, telling politics as they actually happen and as they actually are -- they're the ones that really deserve the "We Report, You Decide" slogan.

I agree!
