I looked but didn't see it. I saw the article on Saturday but don't remember which paper, and I can't link to it because it requires a username and password I was given by my library. It was only later that I saw that was old news.
"Convoy" was his biggest hit, but his favorite of mine will always be "Classified". Trust me, if you grew up in small town America, you certainly knew someone like this:

I was thinking about this (sorta...) as I was driving on a road trip last week. I used to be on a YahooGroups message list (before it was killed off due to lack of use...) by others that enjoyed the words of Fries (and others) and the music of Chip Davis, who would later create a little group called Mannheim Steamroller after the C.W. McCall truck ran out of fuel in the early 1980's.
