Cable channels collquiqlly known as stations.

In a lot of spaces, a lot of people call cable channels stations. It seems second nature to a lot of people to mix the two. But technically stations are ones registered by the FCC and have a legal ID. But how many people in everyday life refer to channels as stations?

I don't know that asking the denizens of RD is going to get you a very useful answer, since our thought process is biased by the very explanation you gave in your question.

People "in everyday life" don't tend to hang out on message boards for radio.

Consider the other one especially those with newer TV's they can call certain TV apps like FAST apps as Cable such as Pluto, Tubi, Roku Channel, and Samsung TV Plus given that their TV can pick up wifi signals to activate access to certain TV apps.

So it's just how the general public recognize TV. But I can see the other part of this argument where Stations are specifically like OTA local TV stations that transmit ATSC 3.0 specifically to the City of License if this is where the argument is supposed to go here.
