Cal Cross

IIRC, Cal ran afoul of the law and it was costly to his career.

I can tell you what Cal didn't do. Story has it that Mr. Schrutt really laid in to Cal one day for something that he allegedly did at the radio station only to learn that on the day of this alleged occurence, Cal wasn't even at work. Seems that Neil McGinley & George Dixon didn't get their facts straight when they presented their evidnece to Schrutt and, of course, Norm really blew his stack!!!

Funny thing, I understand that he never apologized to Cal, instead - this according to Cal, when he exited Norm's office, Norm said something like: "Better watch your step cause I've got my eye on you"!

I just read about Norm Schurt at the AIR Awards, I remember Cal did commercials for yhat diet pill Phen-Phen and after the government pulled it he was gone. I had no idea GMD was involved,I know George left not long after Cal did, bill Dollar would proably know maybe I'll ask him.

Oh Cal was a great guy and I liked him a lot and he loved country music. I just don't believe any of the rumors. I hope he's doing well and spinning some ctry. tunes somewhere.

Cal did sound nice..Wonder where he ended up? Probably where alot of us have, doing something outside of radio. With our current economy in the postion its in, its SCARY everywhere!!

Hi everybody, it is I, Cal Cross, thanks for the wondeful comments. Let me just say, I didn't run afould the law, never been in trouble, but everything else is mostly true. I will say I do miss being on the Air and my former Co-Workers, especially Rhubarb, always treated me with the greatest respect.

I haven't been on-air since I left radio in 1997.
