Calgary gives Traffic a new home

I was in Calgary for Christmas just over a year ago, and the traffic station was up and running on 97.5. All that they ran during that time was a taped lo0p saying that they were suspending all reports until the start of the new year. Boxing Day was not one of the best days for weather, and the roads weren't that great, so they could have at least ran a taped lo0p saying the road conditions were expected to be somewhat hazardous due to the freezing rain. Even our little info station here in Ottawa is updated several times a day, no matter what day of the year it is. But it's also more than just traffic info.

Thankfully in Calgary you have quite a few alternatives if you want traffic info, much like any other large city.

Vancouver is a "Large city".
Why can't Calgary's taxes pay for a government run station to at least be as good as Vancouver's AM730?

It's sad when taxes have to go to such waste.
AM730 is run by Corus...now, respectfully, I honestly do not know if that's a tax write off for Corus...but at least it's better run!
