So if Gem 104 already has 1460 WGMF, 99.9 in Back Mountain, 101.7 in the Abingtons, 104.3 in Tunkhannock and Scranton, and 104.5 in Wilkes-Barre and Pittston all simulcasting the same thing, why would they need or want 730?
To fill in the area around Rt 11 and the South Cross Valley.
But does expanding the coverage of something no one listens to make sense? If the first five frequencies are only getting GEM a 1.2 (and that's been their highest rating), does adding a sixth really make much difference?
I understand it is cheaper to simulcast, but why not try something else on say half of the frequencies?
Or is it that none of these frequencies have a strong enough signal to stand on its own?

Regarding your "1.2" comment.......this is incorrect by a factor of 3....lest you forget the former WGMF-FM, 107.7; now WCIG. By the way, ratings mean little compared to dollars. The former WNAK did poor financially; poor Bob Neilson was forced to beg for money at the end (even I tried to help with donated old equipment I gave to Ron and Bob). 730 is a project....it needs a lot of TLC. It will take many many months to fix everything and clean up the mess. Rome wasn't built in a day. This is what we do....find disasters and fix them up. As this frequency sits today....it is a repeater on the AM band. to be continued......after its fixed........

Thanks for your reply, Kevin...you're right, I forgot about the ratings for the former GEM 107.7 in my 1.2 comment. Anyway, guess I understand why 730 will be a relayer until you guys can get it fixed up. As I worked at the former funeral home for about 15 years, I know how much work you guys have ahead of you, and I am pleased you and your compatriots at Geos are willing to spend the time, energy and money to do the restoration. Good luck with that!
